The story behind oneBTC

oneBTC is a stablecoin for the Bitcoin community. You must buy wBTC to mint oneBTC. You can use oneBTC to buy or sell goods and services, pay expenses and taxes, or to create USD exposure in DeFi (decentralized finance) applications. oneBTC provides the hard peg of USDC/USDT without sacrificing decentralization nor giving up on driving Bitcoin scarcity. oneBTC keeps its value at $1, is purely on-chain, and accrues a Bitcoin treasury. Typically, when you want to make a trade and get out of Bitcoin to ‘get stable’, you need to trade Bitcoin into a stablecoin. Now you’re in an either/or scenario. Whether USDT, USDC, DAI, these other stablecoins capture value for themselves and do not drive the value of your Bitcoin hodlings. Remember, you just sold it to get stable. Enter ICHI. With ICHI, you mint oneBTC with wBTC. In the process, you grow a Bitcoin treasury that YOU govern and control.

What moves the oneBTC price?

oneBTC is a Ethereum token, so its price is set entirely by what happens in its liquidity pools rather than by any order book. Volume is low relative to the $287.1K sitting in the pool, so the price can stay flat for long stretches and then jump when a single sizeable order arrives. The main drivers are the depth of that pool, how concentrated the holder base is, general Ethereum market conditions, and social attention. For a token with a B grade, position size discipline matters more than any price prediction.

How to buy oneBTC

  1. Get a Ethereum wallet. Install MetaMask or Rabby and fund it with ETH.
  2. Open a DEX. oneBTC trades mainly on Sushiswap. Paste the contract address rather than searching the ticker: names can be copied by scam tokens.
  3. Verify the contract. Check it against the address on this page: 0xc88f47067db2e25851317a2fdae73a22c0777c37 You can open that address on Etherscan and confirm supply, holders and transfers yourself instead of taking our word for it.
  4. Set slippage sensibly. With $287.1K of liquidity, moderate orders should fill without extreme slippage, but size still matters.
  5. Confirm and review. After the swap, verify the tokens landed and that you can sell a small amount back. If a sell fails, treat it as a honeypot.

oneBTC price prediction, answered with arithmetic

Every token this size gets asked where the price is going, and nobody honest can answer that. What can be answered is what each target would require. oneBTC trades at $1 today. For each target price below, the table shows what the whole supply would be worth at that price, and how that compares to assets people already know.

Target priceMultiple from todayImplied valuationFor scale
$55.0x$2.10Ma small-cap crypto asset
$1010.0x$4.19Ma small-cap crypto asset
$2019.9x$8.38Ma small-cap crypto asset

This is arithmetic, not a forecast. Nobody can tell you where oneBTC will trade. What the table does tell you is the size of the move being asked for, which is usually the missing piece when people ask whether a token can reach a given price.
