What are tokenized stocks?

A tokenized stock is a blockchain token issued against a real share in a listed company. A regulated issuer buys and holds the underlying shares, then issues tokens one for one against them, so the token is meant to track the share price and can be redeemed or reconciled against the shares behind it. That backing is the whole point: without it there is no reason for the token to follow the stock at all.

The appeal is mechanical rather than ideological. Shares settle on market hours through brokers and custodians; a token settles on a blockchain in seconds, at any hour, to anyone with a wallet. That is why the category exists, and it is also why it attracts imitators.

Tokenized equities versus tokens that only borrow the ticker

This is the distinction the whole subject turns on, and it is the reason this page is a list of measurements rather than a list of recommendations. A ticker is simply a text field inside a smart contract. Nobody has to ask permission to use one. Deploying a token called NVDA or TSLA takes minutes, costs almost nothing, and creates no relationship whatsoever with the company whose ticker it copies.

So the ticker tells you nothing. What does carry information is where the token trades and when its pool was created. Of the 111 tokens listed below, 19 trade on permissionless launchpad pools, the kind any wallet can open without review. That is a fact about the venue, not a verdict on any individual token, and we deliberately do not label tokens as genuine or fake. We are not an auditor. What we can do is put the venue, the age, the liquidity and the contract address in front of you so the check takes thirty seconds instead of an afternoon.

Read the price column carefully. It is what the token trades at in its pool, not what the share trades at on an exchange. They are different numbers and they often do not resemble each other: you will see a token carrying the MU ticker at four figures while Micron shares trade nowhere near that. A price that does not track the underlying share is one of the plainest signs that a token is using the ticker rather than representing the company.

How to check which one you are looking at

1. Start at the issuer, not at the chart. A regulated tokenization product publishes its own contract addresses on its own site. Open the issuer's page, copy the address from there, and compare it with the address on the token page you are reading. If you cannot find an issuer that claims the token, that answers the question.
2. Read the venue. Pools on permissionless launchpads are opened by anyone in minutes. Pools on established exchanges still prove nothing about backing, but they at least required someone to commit real liquidity.
3. Look at the pool age. 24 of the pools on this page are less than a week old. A share class that has existed for decades does not need a token that appeared on Tuesday.
4. Open the contract on a block explorer. Every token page here links the contract address directly to Solscan, Etherscan, BaseScan or BscScan. Supply, holders and transfers are all public.
5. Check the rules where you live. Anything genuinely backed by shares is generally treated as a security. Investor.gov and FINRA both publish plain language guidance on what that means for you.

Where to buy tokenized stocks

The tokens listed here trade on decentralised exchanges, which means you buy them from a liquidity pool with a self custody wallet rather than through a broker. That has two consequences worth stating plainly. There is no settlement guarantee and no counterparty to complain to, and the pool depth sets your real execution price: with $52.25M spread across 111 pools, most of these markets are far thinner than the stock they name. An order worth a small fraction of a pool will still move it.

Regulated tokenized equity products are usually bought from the issuer or from a venue the issuer works with, after identity checks. If a token can be bought anonymously from a pool that opened last week, that is worth registering before, not after.
